🇳🇬 Nigeria in Crisis: Kidnappings, Bloodshed, and Tinubu Under Fire
Nigeria is bleeding, fam. From the North-West to the North-Central, insecurity has turned violent once again. Mass abductions, terrorist strikes, and bandit attacks aren’t just headlines—they’re daily nightmares for Nigerians. And yes, all eyes are on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to see if his government can actually act, or if this is just another season of excuses.
🚨 What Happened Lately (November 2025)
Kebbi School Horror: November 17, Maga, Kebbi State. Bandits stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School. Vice Principal killed. At least 25 girls abducted. Let that sink in. Twenty-five young lives snatched. This isn’t the first time schools are under attack here—it’s a sickening pattern that refuses to stop.
Kwara Church Massacre: Imagine this—people gathering to thank God for the release of past kidnapping victims, only to be ambushed by bandits. Two killed, 35 worshippers kidnapped. Faith met brutality head-on. And once again, the innocent pay the price.
Military Blow: Borno State. ISWAP fighters ambushed and executed Brigadier-General M. Uba. A senior officer. Not a recruit. Not a civilian. This tells you the terror groups here aren’t just small gangs—they’re organized, dangerous, and lethal.
Banditry on the Rise: Kebbi, Kwara…this is just the tip of the iceberg. Across the North-West and North-Central, communities are living in fear. And we’re all asking the same question: when will it stop?
🏛️ Tinubu’s Response
The Presidency is moving. But is it fast enough?
Trips Cancelled: No South Africa, no Angola. Tinubu is staying home, they say, to focus on domestic security. Actions speak louder than words, we hope.
Shettima on the Ground: Vice President Kashim Shettima is in Kebbi, consoling families, talking to officials, seeing the situation firsthand. At least someone’s looking at the faces of the victims.
Security Chiefs Put on Notice: “Pursue, neutralise, dismantle”—that’s the order. Bold words, but execution is the real test. Nigerians are tired of speeches.
No Religious Spin: The government says this isn’t about Christians, Muslims, or any sect. Terror hits everyone. Yet, everyone sees the headlines differently.
Promise of Rescue: Every instrument of the state will be deployed to bring back the abducted. We pray that’s not just another promise.
📣 Pressure Is Real
The criticism is loud, and it’s growing.
Domestically: Rotimi Amaechi and other voices accuse the government of failing Nigerians. Ministers of Defence are being called out. Citizens want action, not excuses.
Internationally: US Congressman Bill Huizenga isn’t impressed. “Sitting back” is the phrase he used. The US House Subcommittee on Africa is watching. Nigeria is under the microscope.
The situation is a mess. Bandits, terrorists, and killers operate freely while Nigerians pay the price. The Tinubu administration is under the spotlight, and the country is screaming for solutions.
Will action follow words? Only time—and results—will tell.
