Speed Darlington under fire, Tinubu pays off debt, Anambra woman's sex scandal

🎤 Speed Darlington under fire for disturbing comment on Instagram Live

Controversial Nigerian artist Speed Darlington has sparked outrage after making a shocking statement during an Instagram Live session. In the video, he casually mentioned having been intimate with a 15-year-old girl, a claim that triggered an immediate backlash from viewers and online communities alike.

Not long after, Speed attempted to douse the flames with an apology — but it only raised more eyebrows. He explained that his comments weren’t true but were instead an intentional stunt:

“I’m an artist and we need controversy to eat. If people aren’t talking about you, you’re not getting booked.”

His justification has not sat well with many Nigerians, who say child abuse — even as a joke — is not something to play with. Public pressure continues to mount, with several advocacy groups now calling for an investigation into his behavior.

🔥 Anambra woman in viral sex tape speaks out: “Poverty and abuse pushed me into it”

A woman from Anambra State, Chinaza Odeka, has found herself at the center of a heated scandal after a private sex tape involving her and a married man, Ichie Obiora, leaked online. What made the case even more sensational was the claim that her own daughter discovered the video on her phone and leaked it after showing it to her father.

Chinaza has since spoken out, defending herself against the wave of judgment and mockery. She admitted to the affair but said it was born out of desperation, neglect, and long-term abuse. According to her, her husband often left her without support and physically assaulted her. She described Ichie as a man who cared for her when she was at her lowest, even rushing her to the hospital once after her husband beat her.

Addressing the public, Chinaza said:

“There’s no woman that doesn’t make mistakes. The difference is that mine was caught on camera.”

She also denied claims that Ichie had any inappropriate relationship with her daughter. Despite the backlash, she stood her ground, accusing the public of hypocrisy and placing curses on those who celebrated her downfall.

💰 Tinubu’s administration makes bold moves to tackle Nigeria’s rising debt

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is taking on Nigeria’s growing debt problem with aggressive reforms and fiscal strategies. One major development is the reduction in Nigeria’s debt-service-to-revenue ratio, which has dropped from 97% to 65% under his leadership. This means the government is now spending less of its income on repaying loans — a much-needed step toward financial stability.

In addition, Tinubu’s team has cleared over ₦30 trillion in short-term borrowing from the Central Bank (known as “Ways and Means”), and ₦3.3 trillion has been released to settle debts in the power sector. These payments are aimed at improving national power supply and encouraging investor confidence.

However, despite these efforts, the country’s total debt has continued to climb — from ₦87 trillion in mid-2023 to over ₦142 trillion by the end of 2024. Experts warn that while progress is being made, Nigeria must boost internal revenue, reduce unnecessary spending, and grow the economy faster if it hopes to avoid a future crisis. The real test lies in whether these policies can trickle down to impact the daily lives of struggling Nigerians.
