đź’”True Life Story: Sandra, Amanda & Derek: The Love Triangle Nobody Asked For

Imagine being in an open relationship with your man. You know he doesn’t do “one woman only,” but you accept it because he respects you, provides for you, and always comes home to you. That’s Amanda’s reality. For two years, she’s been the main chick in Derek’s life, even though he occasionally steps out with other women.

Now enter Sandra — Amanda’s best friend. Sandra is engaged to a man abroad, living her own love life. The two girls are close, tight like sisters.

But everything changed during Derek’s lavish birthday party in April. Sandra was there, the drinks were flowing, music was blasting, and Derek noticed Sandra. Noticed her too much. By the end of the night, he told Amanda straight:

“I want your friend.”

Amanda refused at first — “That’s my best friend, off-limits.”
But Derek pushed. He wanted Sandra, and he wanted Amanda to make it happen.

Instead of warning Sandra, Amanda started plotting. She began setting up situations where Sandra and Derek would be around each other — visits, hangouts, little traps. Eventually, it happened. Derek and Sandra crossed the line.

Usually, Derek would sleep with someone once or twice and move on. But this time? He didn’t stop. One time became two, then three. Amanda waited for it to fade, but Derek wouldn’t let Sandra go.

When Amanda tried to shut it down, Derek flipped the script. He told Sandra everything — that Amanda was the one who set her up, that Amanda had been asking for updates, even showing her the receipts. Sandra was stunned, but instead of confronting Amanda, she decided to keep it cool.

Her logic?

“Since I didn’t sign up for this, but Amanda signed me up, I’ll play along until I’m ready to stop.”

And so, the affair continued.

The twist? Derek, the same man who once swore he could never be with just one woman, promised Sandra exclusivity. He told her he was ready to leave that lifestyle behind if she stayed. Meaning, Amanda — the girlfriend — would now become the side chick.

Amanda wasn’t having it. Furious, she reached out to Sandra’s fiancé abroad and exposed everything: how it started, her own role in setting it up, and what Sandra had been doing. The fiancé was livid. He broke off the engagement immediately.

Sandra, heartbroken but fiery, turned her anger back on Amanda:

“You ruined my relationship, so just know it’s over between you, Derek, and me. If Derek wants me, he has to cut you off.”

And guess what? Derek agreed.

Now Amanda is left raging, calling Sandra a betrayer, when in reality, she set the entire train wreck in motion.

So, here’s the question:
Was Sandra wrong for continuing the affair after finding out Amanda set her up, or was Amanda the architect of her own downfall?
